Maxim Naumov

Maxim Naumov

Maxim was born to a family of champion skaters, 1994 World Pair Champions Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov. It was only natural that Maxim would try figure skating, but his first experience on the ice was not encouraging: he showed not interest in skating. He tried gymnastics and liked it more at that age. Two years of gymnastics gave Maxim greater strength, flexibility and coordination, so his second attempt at skating was more promising.

By 2011, Max won his first regional championship and every one since then. His competitive record is already impressive. He is the 2013 Juvenile Boys Champion, 2015 Eastern Sectional Championships Novice gold medalist, 2016 Novice national bronze medalist, and is the reigning 2017 Novice Men’s National Champion.

Maxim has represented the United States at two international competitions, winning both the 2016 Gardena Cup in Italy and 2017 Challenge Cup in the Netherlands.

Next season, Maxim will move up to the Junior Men’s level. His goal is to be named once again to Team USA and to compete in the Junior Grand Prix series.
