Return to Celebration Week
Hazel Collier
Hazel has spent her entire skating career training at and representing The Club and feels the Club is truly her home away from home.
In 2009, Hazel enrolled in the Learn To Skate program where in Basic 1. In 2018, Hazel was named the Intermediate Ladies New England bronze medalist, and was an Eastern Sectional competitor. In 2019, she made it through regionals and sectionals, finishing her season as the U.S. Championship intermediate bronze medalist. In 2020, Hazel went on to become the New England Singles Challenge novice gold medalist, the 2020 Eastern sectional singles silver medalist, and a U.S. Championship competitor at the junior level.
Hazel lives in Charlestown and is an 9th grader at the Newman School where her favorite subject is History. Hazel loves playing lacrosse with her sister, spending time with her friends, and making Tik Toks. She has a new puppy Bergie, who was named after the Boston Bruins player Patrice Bergeron. Each summer she escapes for her family’s annual sailing trip through the waters of coastal Maine where she loves sailing, tubing windsurfing, laughing with her brother and sister, exploring islands, and jumping into the frigid water for the daily swim ritual.
Performing in Ice Chips is always one of the skating highlights of the year for Hazel and 2020 would have been her 11th consecutive Ice Chips appearance! Hazel’s favorite things about Ice Chips are performing and being backstage with her friends. She will miss Ice Chips very much this year, but she is glad to support efforts to slow the spread of Covid19.
Hazel would like to thank her coaches, choreographers and mentors who have trained her, pushed her to work hard every day, and taught her to love skating. Thanks to: Suna Murray, Simon Shnapir and Jason Wong.
Hazel wishes the best of luck to the entire Ice Chips cast in the coming year!
