Maxim Naumov

Maxim was born in August 2001 to the 1994 World Pair Champions, Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov. It was never a question of whether he was going to try to skate, only when.  Maxim’s first experience with skating happened at age three, and it was neither good nor bad.  He showed no interest in skating, so his family had him try gymnastics instead, which Maxim found much more fun at that age.

Two years of gymnastics made Maxim stronger, more flexible, and more coordinated, so his second attempt to skate was more successful.   At age five, his skating career began at the International Skating Center of Connecticut in Simsbury, CT, where he trained for ten years.

Maxim attended public schools from Kindergarten through 9th grade, at which point it become apparent that maintaining 18-20 hours of on-ice training, and 3-4 hours of off-ice and ballet per week, while attending public high school, was almost impossible.   Maxim then joined K12 International Academy online.

In 2017 Maxim’s family moved to Boston and he joined The Skating Club of Boston.  Being part of the Club is very exciting for him, and he enjoys spending time with friends and participating in activities.

In what little free time he has, Maxim loves to get his mind off skating by relaxing at home, playing video games with his friends, and riding his bike.

Maxim’s life-long dream is to land all quad jumps and become an Olympian.
