Sara Celanovic

Sara is a 17-year-old junior at Newton North High School who competes internationally on behalf of Serbia at the junior level and is the 2019 Serbian National silver medalist. Sara is coached by Suna Murray, Sergei Minaev, and Simon Shnapir and spends at least three weeks at a training camp in Oberstdorf, Germany working with Michael Huth, Aljona Savchenko, Carolina Kostner, Rostislav Sinicyn, and many others each summer. She loves training at The Club because of the fun, yet competitive atmosphere present, as it has taught her the importance of diligence, perseverance, and determination. Outside of the rink, Sara is an honor student who also attends the German Saturday School in Lexington, is fluent in Serbian, German, and Spanish and is working to add more. She wants to major in either economics, political science, or cellular biology in college and then later attend law school. Aside from school and skating, Sara enjoys spending time with her friends, playing with her 2-year-old golden retriever, Margot, working out (especially SoulCycle), skiing, and reading. Additionally, she follows tennis religiously with her family as they are huge Novak Djokovic fans, and she is also an avid fan of gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, water polo, and soccer.
